Description

Behold “Bambi III” - a time capsule in the form of a 1984 Marine Trading trawler with only 500 original hours! Marine Trading International is best known for its exclusive line of Taiwan built trawlers. The company began in 1968 and became well positioned to take advantage of surging demand for efficient trawler styled designs. It was during the 1970’s and 1980’s that MTI made a significant impact on the market selling hundreds of boats in every region of the country. In 30 years of operations MTI has imported over 3000 boats more than any other importer in the country. This model is a Traditional double cabin trawler offering a practical blend of old world styling, roomy accommodations, and economical operation.  Marine Trader models have come from many different Taiwan manufacturers over the years but what you need to know about “Bambi III” is that the owner himself went to Taiwan to oversee and customize the production of the vessel himself. He put exceptional care and thought into every detail with the same perfectionism you expect find in most Engineers.

Brokers Remarks: “Bambi III” is truly a remarkable one-owner vessel for a buyer who appreciates the many impressive touches included in this custom Trawler.  The 1984 masterpiece has only 500 original hours on her 420 HP Lehman diesel engine! She’s a custom trawler in her own right with beautiful custom teak work, parquet flooring and hand-carved stateroom doors throughout; truly a work of art! A marvel of ingenuity, her owner is a WWII aviation veteran and engineer who was heavily involved in her fabrication. Using his Engineering know-how, Bambi III’s captain appointed her with every consideration for efficiency and convenience. Case in point: for the smoothest possible ride in a boat this size, the owner outfitted her with a NAIAD gyroscopic stabilizing system. Another example or the form and function forethought is the hard top on her ample sundeck which is supported by multiple heavy duty stainless elbow braces for increased strength. “Bambi III’s engine room walls are lined with lead to decrease noise and increase safety normally a standard for commercial vessels. There are two entire air conditioning units and substantial ductwork for optimal air flow and temperature regulation. The headroom is incredible with 6.5 feet of clearance throughout the vessel. The master stateroom was designed with enormous wall to wall drawer, hanging locker, and cabinet spaces on the port and starboard sides of the room. Her hull was integrated with bumpers for protection of her above average condition hull. The electrical wiring, again, is uniquely designed for optimal function and energy efficiency by the owner. “Bambi III” is a well built, sturdy trawler was built for the owner and his wife to cruise the islands; unfortunately health issues have prevented them from enjoying her. Don’t put off your opportunity to own a truly unique, spacious live-aboard vessel! Make her yours and continue the dream!
