Description

Thompson Trawlers like “On Tapp” were designed and built for the Gulf Coast commercial shrimping and fishing industry and constructed in Titusville, Florida by Thompson Industries. Their seaworthiness and rugged construction are legendary. Realizing that the overall hull design would be an ideal platform for cruising yacht adaptation, Thompson built approximately 100 yachting trawlers modified from the deck up to offer yachting accommodations without sacrificing the strength and rough sea stability of their commercial counterparts. This is a true trawler, not an Asian-built gingerbread 'wannabe'! From her stand-up, walk-around engine room to her salty sheerline, she's proud to show her working trawler roots. Thompson Trawlers have a loyal following and an active owner's association that regularly hosts the Thompson Rendezvous.

Brokers Remarks: Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to own a rare sturdy built American trawler! “On Tapp” has a wonderfully comfortable layout for a cruising couple with abundant storage, a bright and airy salon and she is economical to operate. Having two heads with separate showers makes her a liveaboard's dream. Her 15-foot beam provides the utmost stability and a lot of usable living space. This aft-cabin, model features a unique galley down arrangement, huge salon and owner’s cabin, and a massive engine room with washer/dryer and a workshop.  She has a very shallow draft (3-feet), which allows a voyager to cruise into many areas that are not easily accessible to many other similar vessels. She’ll cruise at 7.5-mph while burning only two-gallons of fuel per hour. “On Tapp” carries 670-gallons of fuel and 250-gallons of water, which gives this vessel tremendous cruising range and capability. The helm station is equipped with an impressive array of electronics to help you navigate into unfamiliar waters with ease. This unique vessel contains all the amenities you could possibly want, from her large well appointed galley, to her laundry facilities (no schlepping to the marina laundry mat and feeding machines all your money) to the workshop, a handyman’s dream! This boat wins the prize for versatility in the Trawler class. “On Tapp” couldn’t have a more conscientious owner, a Tug Boat Captain how knows how to effectively and efficiently maintain her. This is a must see for the serious long range cruiser or live-aboard boater, so give us a call for more details or an appointment.
